Hanging out with Family :)

It's been a few weeks since my last post, we've been very busy spending time with family. Siri's Auntie China & Uncle Muni came to visit her from Cambodia and stayed with us for 2 weeks. During these last 2 weeks, we have been all around Southern California, taking Baby Siri everywhere we go. She's been to Wild Rivers, the OC Fair and Knott's Berry Farm among many other fun places. All of Siri's Aunts & Uncles (on Mommy's side) spent lots of time with her and she was enjoying every minute of being hugged, kissed and cuddled. Unfortunately our house is back to being just us three, Mamma, Papa and Baby Siri :(  We'll miss the Little Siri helpers!!!

Siri's fun-filled 4 day weekend!

Unfortunately our July 4th weekend is coming to an end, that means Papa is going back to work and Grandma Hyde is heading back to North Carolina tomorrow. Charles took an extra couple days off work last week to take his mom and our little Siri out n' about. On Thursday, we headed to Downtown Orange and spent a nice afternoon walking around and had a great lunch at the Citrus Grille. We even went to show off our baby Siri to some of our Wells Fargo friends at the Orange Plaza branch...of course they all adored her :)

We spent the July 4th holiday at home, barbequing with the entire Hyde Family including Grandma Hyde from North Carolina and also the Hyde gang from Arizona. Our dear friend Celin came to hang out with us as well and to spend time with little Siri.



On Saturday, Mamma and baby Siri spent the afternoon in Long Beach with her favorite Aunt Julie and then visited her Great-Grandma Sisowath at her home.




And today, we (Papa, Mamma, Grandma Hyde and Baby Siri) had a lovely day walking around Downtown Disney. We enjoyed a nice lunch at Rainforest Cafe and then did some shopping afterwards. Thank you Grandma for all your cute gifts!!

Today is July 2, 2008 and  our little Siri is officially one month old! Wow, I can't believe it's already been one month since she came into this world....just the other day I feel I was bringing her home for the first time!!  

Well, during Baby Siri's first month, there were plenty of happy moments:

• Siri was born on June 2, 2008 at 3:42 a.m....the best day of our lives!!!
• Siri's first day home on June 3, 2008....she had lots & lots of visitors her first day....so many people who have come to share in our joy and see our beautiful baby girl
• Siri's maternal Grandmother comes to visit her on June 5, 2008 and stays for a week.
• Siri's paternal family come over to see her on June 8, 2008  
  
• Siri meets her maternal Great-Grandma on June 10, 2008
• Siri visits her Papa at work in Irvine on June 20, 2008. We showed her off to all his coworkers!! 
• Siri's first day at the beach. Bolsa Chica Beach on June 21, 2008
• Siri visits her new BFF Chloe in Pasadena on June 25, 2008. Baby Chloe is 2 days younger than Siri!!
• Siri's 2nd Dr's appointment on June 26, 2008. She's 10 pounds & 8 ounces.....wow, our baby gained over 2 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks!!
• Siri attends her first pre-July 4th BBQ on June 28, 2008
• Siri's paternal Grandma comes to visit from North Carolina on June 30, 2008

All the other times in between, Baby Siri and her mommy have been hanging out together, doing some shopping but most of the time, we're bonding at home. Baby Siri is still sleeping a lot of course.....still between 3-4 hours.  Now when she gets up, she stays up for over an hour, being really attentive and active. She enjoys it when Mamma reads to her and sings songs!!  Her favorite song is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (well, it's one of the few songs Mamma knows!)

It's been a more than a week since my last post.....unfortunately my computer crashed, again! I've had so many problems with my laptop so I'm finally going to buying an Apple, I hear they don't crash, yay!! Since my pictures were on my computer, I've uploaded the ones I have been taking using my camera phone to post on the blog for now....they aren't too bad huh?! Of course, like anyone who has a new child, I've been taking endless pictures of Baby Siri....probably too many...and then I actually print every single one of them as well!!! That's probably not going to be sustainable...considering how I just spent $60 one time and then $15 the last time just for photos. Ahhh, what the heck, Baby Siri is all worth it :)

Well Baby Siri is 3 weeks old now....but it doesn't feel like it because she's growing so fast. Very early on she's been holding her head up and now she's been sleeping long hours in the night, it's great! She's been a really good baby so far, not crying much unless she's hungry.....although the cries do get worse since we take a minute or two to warm up her milk!! But the moment we feed her, she's all quiet and happy :) Mommy and Daddy are doing very well....loving every moment we spend with our baby girl. Mommy has been taking Baby Siri on lots of shopping trips .....she enjoys the outings...well, what she enjoys is being in her carseat/stroller, its seems to be very calming for her.

Our baby Siri today is 9 days old today...and everyday, our little girl is changing, from her face, to her eyes, to how she looks at you, to how much she eats and how long she can stay up.....subtle changes, but still very noticeable and so very amazing!! I know it's only been 9 days but people have always said, "they grow up so fast", and I definitely can see why they say that. Mamma & Papa are also doing well, we both really enjoy every moment with her.....especially when she's just staring at you, oh it's so heart-warming :) She's still sleeping most of the day so when she's up, it's just so cute to look at her. She likes to keep us up at night, between the hours of 1-4 a.m, but eventually she settles down and sleeps well into the late morning.

Siri's grandmother arrived from Cambodia last Thursday and unfortunately is leaving us tonight. With her here, we've been taking our little Siri out 'n about, walking around, doing some shopping and enjoying the nice weather. We've even gone to see Siri's uncle Nando at the Grove and had a nice lunch at Morel's Bistro....Baby Siri does so well when we're out, she's sleeping the entire time but that's okay! Thanks Maman for coming here....I wish you could stay longer, it's been very nice to have you around, Baby Siri will miss you :) Please come back soon!! Siri is getting her first sponge bath. She doesn't like it much now but hopefully she will later on. Mamma had to hold her hands to keep her from crying while Papa did the bathing.
